Martha at work.

The other day, I mentioned to you that Lucite Box is involved in a fashion show. Here are a few images from the shoot. Because I’m pressed for time and bored with writing about these things, this will be brief. Please do click around and have a look at the links in this post. You won’t be disappointed. They link to really lovely photos. The images here are just snapshots I took that day. Very amateur, indeed.

Thanks to Martha Williams, a fabulous photographer who makes everything she does look easy. (It’s not easy.)

Visualizing Kim in her two ensembles.

I am sincerely delighted to have the chance to work with my friends–my models–each of whom is deeply committed to cycling. What’s more, they seem nearly as interested in getting dressed-up as I was to see them in my clothes.  You can read more about the individual models and see additional links on Martha’s blog HERE.

Dottie arrives with her shoes.

We were fortunate to have hair and makeup artist, Chris Conner. He is fabulous and so good at what he does. I’ve been in photo shoots before and have had the displeasure to work with very slow, disorganized makeup people. Not Chris. He is not only really talented, he is ON TASK. We managed to get everyone outside and photographed in just 4 hours.

All the bikes that are in these photos were lent to us by my local shop, Boulevard Bikes. Thanks, Kevin!

Bravo to Elise and the crew at Rapid Transit Cycles for sponsoring the fashion show. It’s not without effort that RTC smoothly coordinates participating local bike stores, line-up entertainment for the night, and transport 25 brand new bikes to the gallery.

And of course, thanks to my best friend who always encourages me to do stuff like this even when I sometimes feel like it might be too much collaboration for someone like me who finds working with others to be difficult.   Annemarie just says, “Oh, come on. I work with you! I designed your website. You’re not hard to work with at all.”

Lisa and Martha on location (my alley!)

There are more details about the Bike Winter Fashion show and some really beautiful photos on Dottie's blog HERE.   You can see a few photos that Martha has made available for our press HERE.  Phew. I know...that's a lotsa clickin' for you, but it's worth it. This has been a fun project so far.

I can't wait to see everyone on the runway on Friday
