I quit smoking, and in doing so, I came to realize I’m allergic to things. I now have seasonal allergies and I get extremely congested after drinking more than one hoppy beer. This is sad. I love IPAs. I guess all that tar and garbage in the cigs was masking any sensitivity I may have had to various allergens.

This pink feathery gown from 1965 by Balenciaga makes me sneeze just looking at it. Oh, but I do love feather trimmings. There’s an inner Zsa Zsa Gabor trapped inside me and she’s wearing maribou, for sure.

So this makes me wonder about Mad Men. I’m waiting to see more feathers, rhinestones and beads on the women. It seems to me that the ’60s were replete with all kinds of snazzy sparkling things. We don’t get many opportunities to  see the characters in glitzy evening wear and I really hope that changes.

One of my friends just purchased a small stash of vintage beaded sleeveless shell sweaters in great colors. (You know the ones–they’re usually from Hong Kong and have lots of beady baubles on them just ripe for some serious shimmy situations.)  My friend predicts that someone on Mad Men is going to wear one of those tops and all of us are going to want one of them.  Even though I don’t have those beaded sweaters, I have this sequined sweater on my site. No one seems to get it, but believe me, my inner Zsa Zsa understands. Yeah, the price is pretty high, but this sequined sweater is so outrageous and great I just might have to take it on a test drive this Spring. What to wear on the bottom, though?  WWZZD? (What would Zsa Zsa do?)

Oh, one more thing… how about Jane’s acid trip, rhinestone festooned pallazo pants jumpsuit?  What’d you think?

The last two episodes of this season’s Mad Men were both fantastic. That’s all I’m going to say because I have to go get my hanky. I’m sneezy today.
