Lanvin Vintage 70s Modernist Chic Shirt Dress -  SOLD
Fabulous Modernist Print
Jules-Francois Crahay was appointed head designer at Lanvin in 1963. His career with the company spanned twenty years. This dress showcases his eye for designing thoroughly modern, gorgeously abstract prints. Crahay's designs are as fashion-forward today as they were during the early 70s.

The classic, straightforward shirt dress that proliferated Lanvin's ready-to-wear offerings is brought to a new level of style here. Abstract and artful, this modernist print in white, navy, rich red and goldenrod seems to take its cues from squared-off spiral ‘art metal’ necklaces and brooches you’d see in the 70s. Think Danish Modern jewelry. Do notice that there are also white doves hidden in that print (perhaps a subtle nod to the peace movement of the time.)

Textured fabric in nicely weighted cotton, simple to wear and easily hand washable--this highly sought after label is one that every stylish woman ought to own. Lanvin is the last word in chic.

Condition:
Very good. There is some subtle yellow at neckline (see last photo.) This minor yellowing occurs near the hem but it was not possible to get the camera to read it as it's very light.
