Does This Dress Make Me Look Sticky?

How about getting crafty and sticky? Alexandra Christos did just that. She and her date are enterants in the Stuck at Prom: “Duck” brand Duct Tape Scholarship Contest. You can hear the short interview here. I enjoyed checking out the previous winners and look forward to seeing this year’s fashioners.
I don’t know how long it would take you to make something for the contest, but I think there might be some time to submit your entry.
My crafting skills are fairly limited. I suspect I’d become a human ball of tape if I tried to make a dress from duct tape. (OMG! I’d be a hairless one at that because I’d probably get tape in my hair and have to rip it out–ouch!) My skill set is much more limited. I have to settle for very easy projects with simple, non-adhesive materials.
I’ll never forget how cool we thought we were when we took those yellow plastic Cub Foods bags and made them into tank tops. It’s really easy to do. You just cut the bottom of the bag open, put your arms through the handle holes and voila! You’ve got yourself one mighty chic yellow and black tank. (Plus, the Cub Foods branding is upside down which makes it doubly subversive.)
I think Todd Oldham would have made a great dress for this contest, but he probably didn’t even go to prom.
Editied to add: Wouldn’t it be funny if the theme song for the prom was Lionel Richie’s Stuck On You.

My daughter used to be obsessed with duct tape. I sent her this link.
