Don’t Do It
I bet you thought I forgot about my series of Don’ts. I didn’t.
I have no photo of this “don’t” as I thought it might be rude to stop a lady on the street and say, “May I take a picture of your horrible outfit?” Part of her ensemble consisted of leg warmers WORN WITH FLIP FLOPS! And she also wore hot pants length denim cut-offs. (Yes, there were white pocket flaps sticking out below the jean shorts.) I was so busy focusing on the legs, I don’t rightly remember the top half of the lady, except that she was a beautiful person. That made me happier than if she was not pretty. Nevertheless, her leg and footwear combo makes no sense. (For what it’s worth, it’s about sixty degrees here today.)
Honestly, that combination blew my mind. I’m sure I’ll be muttering to myself for at least a good portion of the day: “Hm. Flip flops with leg warmers? Hmm…what? Why? Really? I wonder if it’s a trend I don’t know about…nah. It can’t be. Who would think that’s a good idea?”
What about you? Are you for or against leg warmers? I like them, but I don’t wear them as I think they probably look bad on my stump legs. Am I right to think that they ought not be paired with flip flops? Magic Eight Ball says, “You are so very right.”

You are so right!!! What the heck??
Leg warmers, for dancers only please.
Thats right up there with sandals and socks. Eesh!!
It must have gone down like this:
“I really want to wear my shorts and flip flops today, but it’s kinda chilly. I know. I’ll add leg warmers, just in case. And, I’ll bring a jacket, too.”
Ah, the mercurial Chicago weather. You never know what to expect.
That is just plan old “trying too hard confusion”. Like when you
are at the thrift store too long and you no longer know what is good. Thanks for making me laugh.
