What is it with vintage prints like this one? It seems there was quite the zeitgeist for brushy abstract prints during the 50s and 60s. We call this the "Brush Stroke School" of fabric design and we happen to be quite fond of the genre. (This type of print is a close cousin to our other favorite vintage print from The Purposeful Splatter School of Design.)

The dress is simple enough until you glance at the standout feature. The neckline has little loops of fabric with matched button details and velvet trimmings. The detail on the neckline does much to take a somewhat plain dress a step above ordinary.

The skirt falls in a flattering a-line shape and the dress zips at the side with a metal zipper. It's made by Roselli. It's like from the late 50s/early 60s. Unfortunately, someone altered the length and it cannot be put back to its original length. Oh well, it sure is a darling print! Perhaps you are petite and would look great in it as is. We can't imagine why not. After all, it's such a wonderful print. Those Brush Stroke students knew what they were doing.
