This stunning vintage chip hat dates from the later 40s to the 50s. Sculptural and dramatic, it pairs perfectly with a cocktail dress or an evening ensemble. It's diminutive and is covered in shiny black sequins. Basically, the shape is oval that's been sculpted to curve upwards and tilt in the front. There's an elastic band to keep it perched along with a wonderful vintage jet black glass hat pin.

The Originally sold at the famous 28 Shop, this hat cost a pretty penny in it's day. The 28 Shop was an upscale designer boutique inside Marshall Field's of Chicago and one the first exclusive women's salons opened within a U.S. department store. The salon had a private elevator entrance at 28 East Washington and 28 dressing rooms. Stylish women flocked to The 28 Shop for the best of the best.

Condition:
Very good to excellent. The mesh that creates the bow on top could use some re-shaping. It's dotted with sequins, so we'd like to leave that to someone more experienced with hats.
