Rich Rootbeer Handles & Carved Bow Detail
Big boxy bags from the '50s are always favorites at Lucitebox, and it's a special treat when they feature great design elements like big interlocking lucite handles. Of course, we're complete suckers for anything made of vintage plastic.
Our classic vintage '50s handbag is made by Triangle. It opens its wide mouth to reveal a spacious interior that’s lined in shiny black rayon. It has a zippered interior pocket as well as a smaller slot for your compact.
The purse is somewhat tall with notched sides that compliment the sinuous handles. There's a rich, root beer colored, carved lucite “bow” that decorates the wide band that forms the front hinge. That deep carving adds a bit sweetness to it. (While it's anything but ordinary, this neutral bag will perfectly compliment any outfit from day to evening.) Of course, the rich and swirly lucite looks shiny and luscious in the light. Up close, you can actually see darker colored swirls in the plastic.
Dare we say that there’s something about the pretty, shiny handles that makes that makes us just want to bite 'em? What's more, there's a special satisfaction in the clicky clacky sound when you snap the two locking handles together. Perfection, indeed. This bag is real attention getter. Don't be surprised when compliments flow the very first time you carry it.
Condition:
Very good to excellent. No holes, stains in the interior or exterior body of the purse. Lucite decorative hinge has just a few extremely light scratches on it. One small area on one handle has rubbed against something and shows some wear. It's a slight textural difference so the plastic isn't perfectly smooth right there. Otherwise, handles are gorgeous, shiny and strong.
