This vintage 40s/50s Whiting and Davis handbag is in perfect condition. It seems as if it's never been carried. It's made of Whiting and Davis's patented Aluminum mesh (they called it Alu-mesh and it's painted white.) Attached to the thick chunky bakelite-esque plastic frame, there's a nice ivory colored plastic chain that's just perfect for holding.

It seems like this is the sort of bag that ought to translate well from day to evening. We'd love to see it with a 1940s gab suit and some peeptoe shoes.

The inside is perfect. It's lined in navy faille and includes a pocket in which there's a small coin purse just for you.

We love this bag. It's a charmer and it's a delight to offer it.

Flawless. Being picky: the clasp closes so securely, it's sometimes sticky and a bit hard to open. That should change with wear.
