Classic Chic Vintage 60s Geoffrey Beene Dress -
SOLD
Sabrina and I both agree. This dress has tons and tons of style. What we love about it most is that it's just so completely timeless and classic. And, we see this one on the body and say to ourselves, "Now that is chic!"
It's vintage Geoffrey Beene from the later part of the 60s or early 70s. The bodice on the dress is very fitted. There's a Beene detail at the waist--a curved seam that creates the illusion of the dress being separates. Buttons on either side of the waist are sewn onto curvy tabs that appear cinch the dress a bit and seem to hold the built-in belt in place. The sleeves are long and very slim. They zip at the wrist with inset nylon zippers. The skirt is voluminous and full. Even though this is heavier wool crepe, the skirt still has lots of fluidity and movement. (Ah...and slash pockets, of course.)
Now, that's just the outside of the dress. Inside it's also a masterpiece. It's fully lined with strong sturdy organza. There's a grosgrain petersham belt to keep the waist in place. And, the long nylon zip in the back is also inset perfectly. You see the inside and you know that this dress is high quality.
We suggest you prepare to knock 'em out in this dress. It is the epitome of chic. If you're the type of person who loves to look completely pulled together and entirely stylish, then there's little doubt that in this dress, you most will most certainly "bring it."
