Crisp Vintage 50s Black Shirtwaist Dress -

A Wardrobe Workhorse!
It's not just a dress, it's a miracle! This one of those go-to wardrobe staples that will be worn into the ground because it's such simple, perfect black dress. Ready to handle all of your accessories, this shirt dress is one you'll find countless ways to wear and countless occasions on which to don this frock.
It's from the late '50s and it's made by the Texas Shirtwaist. The textile is a deep, rich black cotton blend fabric. There's just a touch of something in that cotton (perhaps rayon) that gives it a lovely sheen. The bodice nicely fitted, the skirt full perfectly pleated. Keep in mind that our mannequin is much, much smaller than this larger size dress. A woman with curves will make this sizzle.
The dress has plastic buttons accented with silvery center studs, a little slash pocket on the bust, and a collar that's meant for popping. We're showing this with a huge crinoline that's not included. You won't need a petticoat with this dress because it's got so many pleats and so much fabric. The skirt is uber full.
This classic vintage dress is a terrific investment. The cost per wear will be pennies because you're going to wear this one repeatedly...truly. You will.
Condition:
Very Good to Excellent. This is missing a belt. Nearly any belt will do--wide or thin. There's a small patch of ironing shine on the collar--you can see that in the last photo. It's probably not something that will detract from the goodness of this dress.
