Gorgeous Vintage 50s Slinky Rayon Betty Hartford Dress -
$110
Gorgeous muted shades of mossy green make up a lush print of crackly vines (much like batik) punctuated with Asian motifs. We adore this dress and were it just an inch longer in the waist, it'd would have found a home in the lucitebox closet of vintage.
This is a great dress. It's trans-seasonal. The three quarter sleeves and slinky acetate fabric make it perfect to wear most seasons. It feels like silk and moves like it, too, but it's a bit more weighty than pure silk. The collar is a wide notched affair that's perfect for showcasing a gorgeous necklace. The fit is easy--it's a shirt waister that buttons at the bodice and has a very pleated full skirt. The details (especially the nice cuffs) make it so much more than an average shirt dress.
And of course, there's that print--so lush, so exotic and so wonderful. This dress is lovely, indeed.
Condition:
Very good. There are two flaws to note on collar lapel. Could be hidden with a pressing. Two small tears right on the collar fold.
