Graphic Bold Vintage 70s Catherine Ogust Dress -
When we put a dress like this on our mannequin, Sabrina, she almost smiles. She likes the soft polished cotton. She loves bold colors. The bright white shows off her complexion and hair color so perfectly. She makes this shirt dress just come alive.
This dress is from the 70s. It's made by Catherine Ogust who designed for Penthouse. (Probably a different one that the girly mag, we thinks.) Hot pink, bright turquoise, royal blue, jade, red, olive, purple--these hues pack a punch. The fractal, geometric print gives the dress an edgy, uptown style that's modern and fresh.
Taking cues from Asian traditional garments, Ogust's dresses often feature mandarin collars, knotted buttons and a large obi-style sash belt. The dress pulls over the head and buttons in the front. We like the idea of pairing this dress with one of this season's oversize shoulder bags and a pair of strappy sandals. It would also look tremendous atop a pair of jeans. Pull this on for a shopping trip and make your dressing room experience quick and easy. Pull it over your bikini and you're set for a day at the beach.
However you wear this bold statement, compliments will surely ensue.
Perfect. No flaws found.
