Green Vintage 40s/50s Style Garden Party Halter Dress -
Sometimes things that are not in perfect condition arrive at Lucitebox HQ. Such is the case with this winsome halter dress. We don't know its age exactly, but it's a home sewist's creation that was made with a vintage pattern and a vintage textile. (And a whole lot of love.) Our guess would be 1970s, but there's really no telling since all the details except the nylon zipper point to an earlier date.
The print is captivating. It's a twirl of swirly floral bows in black, tan and white on a sugar snap pea green background. Now, as mentioned, this dress has its problems, but having tried it on, there's no doubt that it is CUTE with a capital C to the U to the T to the E. It wouldn't be going anywhere were the torso just an inch longer.
Maybe you can bring this lovely dress back to life? We'd like to see it lounging at a garden party with some simple flat sandals. We're also told it likes to be seen with a mojito. There's something about the the rum and the mint that makes this green dress really happy. Cheers.
