Ilaria Vintage 60s Handknit Art Sweater Dress -
Bold, colorful and amazing--this art knit from 1968 is the most oddly wonderful thing we've seen in a long time. It looks handknit because it is handknit. It's made in Italy by the Ilaria company, which we'd like to think of as the Pucci of knitwear.
Clearly taking its cues from abstract painting of the late 60s and 70s, the dress features about seven colors that create a bold and striking composition of biomorphic shapes and designs. We are completely in awe! The dress is labeled 95% wool and 5% nylon. It also carries a Marshall Field & Co. label for the Sunningdale Shop.
Lean long sleeves, a high collar and a great columnar shape--this is a knit dress to reckon with.
If you want to be the one who wears the most unique thing in the room, you have found it right here. Right now.
No holes, no stains, no flaws found. Metal zipper works well, too.
