Pert and Prim Vintage 50s Sexy Red Dress -
Pert and prim and
sexy, too? Of course. This is a seriously sexy day dress only because of what it isn't doing. The bodice is not revealing. The skirt is not tight The print is not a flirty affair. In fact, the foulard print is more commonly used for men's neck wear. How sexy is that? Not terribly.
What this dress does have in spades is what ladies in the know call modest charm. It's about hinting at things without being the least bit overt. It's about looking confident and smart without having to flash your assets. What's not showing is what makes it sexy.
The dress is from the '50s. It's made of red rayon that moves with the body so deliciously you'll wish you had more dresses made from this fabric. It features a diamond black and white foulard print with hits of gray that appear airbrushed. What's the best thing about this sexy dress? The neckline of course. It's got a little sculpturally detailed collar that's a prim little bow that stays put with an easy hook and eye closure. The skirt is full and drapey--it swings. The flip back Cadillac fin sleeves are pert. Sexy, even. This dress closes with a side metal zipper.
Why don't you do your bit to bring sexy back? Wear this Mid Century modest dress.
Near perfect. There's a bit of wear on the belt buckle.
