Red Vintage 70s Geoffrey Beene Jersey Dress with Scarf -

Garments with little removable details appeal to us because it's nice to get a little more mileage out of your fashion statement just by adding or removing, say, a scarf, as seen on this darling, flirty vintage Geoffrey Beene dress.
This one is from the 70s and the dress is loaded with cute details that make it a fabulous option for cooler months. First, let's talk textile. It's made of a very drapey jersey that's probably got a skosh of wool in it. It's nice. It's soft. It's a fantastic weight that is sure to keep you warm without being bulky. Next, let's get down to brass tacks on the styling--Beene is a MASTER and it shows in this work of art. The dress is double breasted with shiny plastic red buttons each backed with a besom (bound) button hole. The sleeves are slim and chic. The skirt has just the right amount of twirl-ability--it's full without being overwhelmingly so. We think this would be one of those "go to pieces" with boots. There are even vertical inset pockets. And the seaming on this is exquisite and sure to flatter without being tight or fussy.
Ease of motion seems to be the key here. The dress closes with a concealed nylon zipper. And, yes, dumplings. The scarf is detachable. What a dress. We adore you, Mr. Beene!
Condition:
This is in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition. There are a few flaws to note: 1) There are two (2) spots shown in the photos. (We included a close-up of the larger spot and a shot further away.) The spots are no more than 1/4" in diameter. There are some small picks in the fabric in the back near the base of the zipper. (see last photo.) The base of the zipper needs to be resewn as there are broken stitches at the bottom. The slash pockets have a few broken stitches from stress. They're on the side seams of each pocket. This is being sold AS IS without the option to return it.
