Seriously Chic Vintage 50s Knit Dress -
We like to call a style like this effortlessly elegant. The details are so modern, it's almost hard to believe this is a vintage piece. It dates to the later part of the 50s. Our photos are sparse because, frankly, it doesn't take much to figure out that this dress is sleek, simple and chic.
We might have passed this by entirely, until the trims showed up on the cuffs and the hem. A wide band of grosgrain ribbon accented with a big faille covered button gives the dress that certain something. This dress is a wool knit fabric. It's got a slight amount of give to it, so you know that the bodice is meant to fit tightly. The skirt is fully lined. The dress has its original belt.
Now check out those cuffs again. Smart, right. We love details and these kinds of details are the ones that really make for a stunning entrance. Hold up your glass of wine for a toast and suddenly, someone notices that big button on the cuff. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, this dress offers complete coverage, but of course, it's nothing short of sexy.
