Simply Stunning Vintage 50s Wiggle Dress -
SOLD
A fairly conservative fabric like navy and white houndstooth check gets saucified with a curvalicious, body-hugging cut. This one's a wiggle dress, all right. We suggest it's from the later 50s/early 60s, What truly adds the most interest is the ruched waist detail. It's a wide navy cummerbund in navy that's all drapey and accented with a nice flat bow. The dark color of that waist-cincher detail flatters like nobody's business.
This dress is made from what is often called summer-weight wool. It would look sensational with a dark navy cropped jacket, wethinks.
The dress closes with a long metal zipper. The skirt is partially lined.
Take conservative, business-time fabric and make it just a little bit sexy. Now, who thought of this? Who? Genius!
