Vintage 60s Alfred Shaheen Silk Strappy Floral Dress -
SOLD
From Hawaii's celebrated designer, Alfred Shaheen, comes this lush, fiery vintage silk 1960's dress. It's a rich floral in golden yellow, flame orange and deep orangey red with tan accents.
The silhouette is darling. The wide, cummerbund style waist is accented with a panel of folded, ruched silk. The bust is delicately pleated and very form fitting. This lovely bodice gives way to a voluminous gathered full skirt. We've shown it with a crinoline for maximum pouf, but it's mighty dramatic without one, too. The back is killer. It's ruched tightly through the bodice and decorated with two flat self-fabric bows. This silk is so airy and soft, too. The dress closes in the back with a long metal zipper. It's lined in ivory colored acetate.
Certainly collectible, undoubtedly adorable and truly exceptional--we're very pleased to offer this fabulous designer dress from the '60s. It's a Lucitebox favorite.
Condition:
Very Good. There are three photos which show small wear to the silk that is located at the underarm area. These could be repaired. The pin in the photos is a 1" safety pin. The straps are re-sewn to the dress in the back in an amateur manner which could also be remedied. Other than that, the dress is free of stains, holes and odors.
