Atomic Vintage 50s Velvet & Full Skirt Flocked Party Dress -
SOLD
What a great party dress! It's got lots of class and lots of sass. The dress is from the '50s and the bodice is made of very soft velvet, likely silk velvet. The styling on the bodice is simple and elegant. It's got cap dolman sleeves and a small collar for accent. This is the sort of bodice that seems to look really nice on fuller figures because there's no shoulder seam. It looks rather dumpy on our tiny mannequin, Sabrina. That's because the dress is at least four sizes bigger than Sabrina.
The real drama is that full, flirty party skirt. The fabric is fabuloso! It's a slightly metallic looking gray we're calling gunmetal. It's also flocked. A hatch mark print covers the whole thing. That's accented in white mottled splashy designs. It's a quintessentially 1950's atomic print. The dress zips on the side with a metal zipper. Under the skirt, there's a built-in black slip with a little ruffle at the bottom
Ready for fun? This dress gets you this much closer to being the life of the party!
Condition:
VERY GOOD to GOOD. The bodice is silk velvet. There are some wrinkles at the underarms. The velvet is still very strong and solid, but there are some creases in those areas. The skirt has a very light spot on it that is very hard to see and harder to capture in a photo. It's minor. The skirt is flocked. There are places where the flocking is worn. That is all-over wear and sort of here and there. It reads as black flocked for the most part. Belt is not original to dress and is not included. We have shown this with a crinoline which is also not included in purchase.
