Fantastic Vintage 60s Illusion Neckline Cocktail Dress -
We adore little black dresses. They're always in style. This one from the 1960s has some key qualities that make it a sure bet for any cocktail party or dressy event.
It's made of drapey jet black crepe that's soft to the touch. The nicely fitted bodice has an inset yoke that's all about illusions, Miichael, illusions. (Sorry for the Arrested Development
reference. It's our favorite show.) But really, look at the front and back of this bodice to see the details on that sheer and gorgeous neckline. Sensational. There's even a keyhole opening in the back that'll hit right around the middle of your shoulder blades. Now that is sexy. The back cut-out is not revealing and gives just a hint of sauciness to an otherwise very classic little black dress.
This frock closes in the back with a long metal zipper. The skirt has several large gores so it falls and hangs beautifully.
We like this dress very much. It's modern and chic. It's simple without being boring. This is how you do sophisticated elegance without being over-the-top. This dress is just another example of the classic, timeless style found at Lucitebox vintage.
This dress is in VERY GOOD condition. It has a very small pea size pull in the back of the skirt that's 8" up from the hem at the center back (see last photo.) There is a tiny thread size pull in the black sheer crepe at the front of the illusion neckline. You will not notice this. Otherwise, clean and free of any stains or odors and ready to wear. Dress is fully lined with a built-in slip.
