High Drama Vintage 30s Fringed Evening Gown -
This black crepe gown is pure drama. It's Hollywood glam done up in black crepe, trimmed in fringe and gorgeous gold and black braided cord. At first, the dress gave us a definite 30s vibe, but the bodice doesn't seem entirely in keeping with the styles of that era. Is it possible this dress was reconstructed from a 30s piece during wartime? During WWII there were serious fabric restrictions and it wasn't unusual for earlier clothing to be remade. From the waist down this beauty definitely looks like bias cut '30s evening wear, but the story from the waist up is quite a bit different.
Whatever the case, this dress is sensational, sexy and extremely provocative. The dress is also available in a very hard to find larger size. It seems best suited for a person who's quite tall and very statuesque. It's a very showy piece that will surely accentuate every curve. We give bonus points to any dress with a train!
Metal side zip, lots of volume on the skirt and large enough bodice for a voluptuous figure--wow! This one is, indeed, a knock-out.
VERY GOOD. Clean and free of stains & holes. Low cut back has extra fabric folds/flaps that possibly meant to make the dress more modest. These can be tucked into the dress and pressed or altered by tacking them inside the dress.
