Lace Trimmed Vintage 30s Dress and Jacket -

Gorgeous Lace! Dramatic Matching Jacket!
This vintage late '30s dress is a so wearable and chic. Its matching long jacket adds an air sophistication that is at once effortless and elegant. Both pieces are made of rich brownish, burgundy, plum colored moss crepe. The fabric has lots of drape to it. This textile has just the right amount of fluidity to service the bias-cut as well as the large bell sleeves on the jacket.
The real awe inspiring detail is at the yoke which is made of ornate, figural floral lace. Can you see these big large daisy shapes frolicking about the neckline? That's divine daisy lace!
The dress slips over the head and snaps at the side. There are hook and eye closures at the décollatage. The sleeves are cap style. The jacket is quite cultured looking and so typical of the era. It's loose and free of closures. Do check the pleats in the back. Nice detail.

Condition:
Very Good condition. Dress is very wearable. A few minor picks in the crepe of the skirt that are hard to notice. Side snaps are sewn on somewhat crudely. They might have been moved to make the dress a bit smaller. The lace is structurally sound and stable. It has been repaired. There were 5 small breaks in it. We show one break (2nd to last photo) and how that was repaired (last photo.) The other holes were smaller than the one shown. Each was repaired in the same manner. All repairs are hard to notice and quite serviceable, but hardly restoration quality. Missing belt. You may want to dry clean this. We don't trust our cleaners with it.
