The feel of this dress is nothing short of rich. It's made from a very deep black rayon and silk blend that's soft, smooth and fluid. The dress originally retailed at Sak's Fifth Avenue back in the 50s. With some tweaks on a New Look styling, the fitted bodice is adorned with a shutter tucked cummberbund, which accents the empire waist. The bust has small pleating that emphasizes the decollatage. It's heavenly.

Then, you turn around and the back is slightly fuller--with a deep pleat and gather situation that adds more volume and more drama. It dips down low on the bodice, too. There's a flat bow that adds some extra feminine glam.

This dress has a long metal zipper in the back. It's got a full underskirt (slip) in black muslin. There are tiny snaps to hold your bra in place. Actually, the neckline is probably meant to move slightly closer to an off the shoulder look, but our model is far too small for this dress.

EXCELLENT. No stains, holes or problems. One repair was made to the "v" neckline. There were 5 broken stitches hand repaired.
