Fun Vintage 40s Novelty Print Dressing Gown -
The bliss that comes with wearing a silky rayon dressing gown is something every woman should experience. Vintage rayon fabric from the '40s is so cool and lovely. It feels like heaven on the body. That's what this dressing gown is made of.
. If you're of the glamorous persuasion and you want to wear a dressing gown without worrying about wear and tear, this piece already has some wear. It's clearly lived a very full life and there's plenty left in it. What's more, this vintage gown could as a casual patio dress. Imagine it poolside with chic, flat sandals. What a perfect setting for this castle and ship novelty print.
The gown zips up the center. It's got a wrap bodice that snaps and closes with a hook and an eye. The sleeves are cuffed. The skirt is long, flowing and moves elegantly.
If you love a good novelty print, this gown is such a fabulous example. If the condition issues bother you, the skirt is so voluminous, you might even consider using the fabric for another project. We couldn't resist offering it. It's just so soft and lovely.
This is in GOOD to FAIR condition with a some notable flaws photographed at right. There is a tear in the zipper placket from the zipper getting caught. Belt loops were removed. There is a small portion of the loop that remains on each side of the waist where the belt loops were attached. (It's not a hole, exactly, but a remnant of the loop.) There was a tear in the back and that was patched. It's below the collar seam. There are a few pin pricks in the collar and minor wear on one shoulder seam. It looks a little rough like it rubbed against something. I also notice two darker spots on the bodice, but they don't photograph well and might come out with a dry cleaning.
