Beyond Glamorous Vintage 40s Fur Collar Structured Coat -
SOLD
A statement making, high drama coat is always a good investment. This one is so chic and incredible, you may find that you're mistaken for a movie star while you're wearing it. (If not, you will certainly know what it feels like to be one because all eyes will be on you.)
Enter the superb late '30s/early '40s long black coat with fur collar. The styling on this luxe black coat is impeccable. It's got some wonderful seam work at the waist area, the lower back and at the dramatic shoulders. (These are Joan Crawford shoulder pads, dearest.) There's a long row of small shiny black buttons that close this coat. The "skirt" has just the right amount of flounce to it. This is made from wool and lined in shiny black satin finished rayon. And that collar--oh, mercy. If it were possible to be any more glam, we'd like to know what that looks like. Oh, right. It looks like you in this coat. Of course.
Condition:
Good to Very Good. There is some minor fading on the sleeve. See last photo. It occurs for about 6" from the wrist upwards. The fur is supple and shiny, but there is a minor amount of shedding and some indication of wear. It is not falling apart by any measure, but it may not have been properly stored. At the front center of the fur collar, there's some wear and there is also a spot of wear in the back. You can see that at right. Lining is perfect and clean. Coat has not been cleaned due to fur decoration. You could remove that and have the coat cleaned if you desire.
