Sublime Vintage 40s Camel Colored Wool Swing Coat -
SOLD
Make an appearance at your next dress-up event wearing a great coat. Choose this one from the '40s and you're bound to look polished when you arrive ready to dance the night away. (You can bet, the coat check attendant is going to remember you and your '40s coat.)
This is a classic swing style. It has no other closures besides the ornate clasp that hooks right under the wide collar. The shoulders are padded for that sculptural '40s look that's so typical of the decade. There's also some fabulous seam work on the coat that only emphasizes the drama.
This coat is made of Feather Crush fabric. It's fully lined in tan colored acetate. The loosely woven wool moves quite nicely on the body. The sleeves are long and slim at the wrist.
If you need a good dressy coat that can be styled down for casual wear, this one is it. It can also comfortably find its way out on the town with ease and grace. (Especially with you wearing it over something sensational!) Yes, indeed, friends. This smashing little coat is highly representative of its era and it's utterly stylish. You won't believe how much that coat check girl wants to keep it.
Condition:
Very Good. There are a few flaws shown in the last three photos. You may not be able to see them in the photos, they're so subtle. There are a few places where the weave is uneven, perhaps pulled slightly. There are also three darker freckles on the wool at the bottom left-hand side of the coat. You probably won't notice them either. I'm pointing them out for clarity's sake. There is a 2" seam repair that's at the underarm. It was neatly done by hand.
