Mexican Hand Painted Vintage 50s Full Circle Skirt -
SOLD
Let's just get this over with now. If you're not a festive person who likes to look festive, then you're not going to want to wear this because when you do, people will say, "Wow! You look so festive!" And why wouldn't they say that when you're decked out in an amazing Mexican circle skirt from the 50s?
You're going to see a lot of imitators out there that pretend to be authentic 50s skirts from Mexico. They'll act like they're not cheesy reproductions. They'll pretend to be as detailed and as carefully painted and decorated as this skirt. They're not. If you're a vintage addict, there will be clues that indicate those repro skirts are inferior, "made in china label" withstanding.
This skirt is hecho en Mexico--100% and proud of it. You can see that in the way the mariachi band is so beautifully drawn. You can see that because the sequins are perfectly placed to give the skirt a twinkling effect. You can see that because this garment is tourista take-home gear at its finest. When you went to Mexico in the 50s, this is what you brought home to wear--not something made in China.
Metal side zip, thick durable vintage cotton velvet and a HUGE full circle skirt--to that we have only one thing to say, "Olé!"
