Sharp Vintage Handmacher 40s Wool Suit -
SOLD
If there was a way to "friend" Marshall Field's Suit Shop on Facebook, we would. We would click the "like" button often. That's because Marshall Field's was once the most prominent department store to grace the city of Chicago. It's now defunct, but we're sure glad this sharp and chic vintage late '40s suit is left behind as a momento of the legacy of Fields.
This is 100% worsted wool. It's a bright navy color that's also got some white in the weave. The suit jacket is shapely and chic. It's got extra detailing on the pockets and the cuffs that you can see in the close-up photo. The buttons holes are expertly bound--a mark of quality. This jacket is lined in dark blue crepe. The skirt is slim and attractive and closes at the side with a metal zipper.
A winning combination--Field's and Handmacher! Of course, the whole of it culminates in this fabulous heirloom quality suit. (And, alas, no Facebook page.)
