When we got this silly vintage late 50s/early 60s swimcap, we hoped it might have some appeal to the collector contingency or might suit someone who needs something unique for a photo shoot. Admittedly, the condition is fair to good. It presents and displays well, but the rubber fringe on it is experiencing a slow, but inevitable decline.
The cap is soft rubber and has little strips of fringe all over it. It's trimmed in blue rubber leaves with red yarn pompons. The cap was made by Kleinerts. It's funny, isn't it?
We're sorry that the fringe is a bit spent. You could definitely wear it (the cap itself is really sturdy and not at all dry), but the fringe is going to start to shed a little over time.
What if you just wore it while playing cards with your friends. They could wear silly hats, too. Or you could wear it in the tub while you take a bubble bath. That would be so funny. Then again, we are experts in the self-amusement game.
Condition:
GOOD to FAIR. Yellowing on the fringe and some decomposition of the rubber fringe. The body of the cap is very solid and strong, though.
